The Impulse Donation project aims to create a system for nano-donations to individuals who need support in their social causes: The D(onate) Ecosystem. The system is organized into campaigns, created by the individual, with a concrete objective: obtaining goods or services for people with special needs. Campaigns funding is follow all or nothing model: either the campaign is funded or donors are reimbursed. When a campaign is funded, D Ecosystem apply the funds raised to obtain goods or services defined as the campaign’s objective. The D Ecosystem is a trusted third party between donors and individuals: donors are guaranteed that their donations are applied in the campaign objective; and individuals do not carry the responsibility of receiving funds, but rather the goods or services they need.

Nano-donations are the core of the D Ecosystem: insignificant daily contributions of each one, a huge contribution as a whole. Just a penny a day, every day: 30 cents a month, 3.65 dollars a year. Seems insignificant, right? In 2016 there were 208,610,000 smartphone users in US (source statista), that could represent a $761 426 500/year. Still insignificant? The D Ecosystem is build on trust: for donors on the need of the individuals in the goods and services of the campaigns; for individuals, that their campaigns will be funded bringing a better day after. For ensuring trust, D Ecosystem makes a rigorous selection of the individual accepted, verifies each campaign and the real need of goods and services by the individuals. Above all, D Ecosystem mediates interaction and relationships’ creation, by promoting the dissemination and follow up the individuals and the impacts of their campaigns. The digital platform that will be created under the Impulse Donation project acts as the engine of the ecosystem. In a digital world, technology brings people together, creates ties and relationships, and ensures the transparency and trust among participants.
